Hello everyone
First of all I'm sorry if this is not right place to post this if it's not please redirect me to correct thread.

Ok so basically I'm trying to buy a cnc muchine as work ,

In my city there's an industrial area very huge like around 800-1k workshops 90% of them work on fixing cars ,trucks, construction machines and so on , and cnc is not very common in there,

What i am trying to do is to have a workplace in there MAINLY for creating car parts using cnc , like some car parts cant be replaced because lack of parts or the car is too old to have spare parts available in market, stuffs like that.

My main question is as follows:

1- what type of cnc is best suited for my needs based on above , ( please if possible mention the brand and model num) .
2- what cad/cam software will be best also based on above .
3- can i create everything by 1 cnc muchine or do i need multiple machines based on above .

I don't have any information nor ever worked on cnc , BUT i have 12 years of experience as a survey engineer and during that time i worked alot with autocad and 3ds max ,so i have a decent background with 2d/3d softwares .

But please if there's better softwares than 3ds max for this particular work do mention it for me ,coz i rather start from scratch and use right tools than using what i know .

The answer to number 2 is easy, AutoDesk Fusion 360. It's free to startups and hobbyists. Full professional CAD/CAM software.

The answer to numbers 1 and 3 are much more difficult. It depends on your budget and what parts you want to make. For a new machine you could spend from about $7000 to well over $1,000,000. I would think as a minimum you would need both a lathe and a milling machine. For one-off parts, many times, I use a combination of manual and CNC equipment.

Yes, online and free. Teaches CAD, CAM, and machining. Very good for starting out.
