    Re: TNG Progress

@ Anriro I saw your video from another thread and I now understand ... hopefully v2 will solve that for you. PlanetCNC is fully committed on delivering TNGv2 and I trust that as soon as they can provide us with a delivery date they will. I am really happy with the current version of TNG and I have been able to do some amazing things with it. To think that TNGv2 is going to be even better and run natively on my Mac is just phenomenal. Wish I could download it today.

Got a sneak preview of the changes? Especially the support of rotary machining (incl. graphical preview) and making the transformation matrix "stick" when the program is closed like the old software?

Graphical preview of rotary axes is implemented.
Transformation stay active when g-code program is reloaded. It can also be persistent between software restarts.

    Couple of questions...

Are the change notes posted somewhere? I didn't see them on this forum or the Planet-CNC.com website.

Also, if V2 is still in beta, why isn't V1 still available for download? I would think that users like myself could potentially need to revert to V1 if issues are found in V2.

Everything is changed so change log isn't really applicable.

Status is beta until cycles are completed.
Untill then you can get link to previous TNG version from our support.

Is G76 implemented, because TNG v2 is throwing this error - "Word 'I' without command that uses it"

    Re: TNG Progress

Thanks, just downloaded and tried in simulation mode. Looking good so far. Will try tomorrow on the machine.
    Questions and some beta findings:
    - Same license info as for the V1 version, I guess?
    - The whole speed calculation and lookahead thing seems to have changed. Should I just use the defaults that came with the download?
    - I am missing the button from the old CNC-USB software to set all positions to zero. Can I get that somehow back?
    - Whe I click "Check for updates" it tells me that I still have the 2018 version and should update to the 2019 version, although I definitely have the 2019 version. So, the update check does not work properly.
    - The helpfile/user manual and g-code manual menu items do not work.
    - It shows "Revert to V1" in the machine menu. Does that mean "Revert to TNG V1" or is it "Revert to CNC-USB" ? I would hate to update if I don't have the option to go back to CNC-USB if something does not work for me.

G76 is a cycle. There are some issues with cycles and we need a week or so to finish them.

    Re: TNG Progress

    - Same license as TNGv1. If you have old CNCUSB license then write to support to get TNGv2 license.

    - Defaults lookahead/blend settings should be fine for most users.

    - There is a button to set XY work position to zero and Z work position to zero because usually work position is set separately for Z. However in TNGv2 you can create custom buttons and/or change behavior of most machine related commands.

    - Check for updates needs to be updated. I simply forgot.

    - I will check why manuals don't work. There should be 3 manuals in setup file.

    - Revert to V1 means go back to Mk1 CNCUSB. Make sure you follow instructions how to properly use this.

    Re: TNG Progress

    Hello,
I downloaded TNG V2 beta but the software installation is not clear to me; I noticed that the executable contained in the download is executed directly without installation ... maybe because I have already installed the V.1? Perhaps the contents of the zip should be copied to the V1 folder replacing the original files? in this case, is the software localization still possible with the txt files contained in the lang folder?
    Thanks

    Re: TNG Progress

You are right. There was a problem in publish script and I accidentally uploaded update files and not whole installation. This should be fixed now. Thank you for letting me know.

@JerryBurks - this should also fix "user manual" issue and "check for updates"

    Hello,
TNG V.2: error detected with the M3 and M5 spindle commands. Is there something wrong with my configuration?

You should delete your old scripts. TNGv2 has much more powerful scripting options but unfortunately syntax is different from old TNG.
