Bit of back ground

I have a old (1965) 3 axis Cincinnati
Have installed nema 42 steppers
And DM 2282S drivers
I have this break out board from eBay

Problems

I cannot figure which pins to set motors to
2-3 is x
4-5 is a
6-7 is b
8-9 is relay

That’s all I can figure ..??
I cannot get y or z to trigger

Also when wired with all Neg as common and enable pos , Dir pos and Pul pos the driver goes straight in fault mode

I did find the wiring on the net so not sure it’s correct

Can you post the wiring diagram you have .
On most boards the common can be set to supply the pos to step and dir . The active low in Mach for the step and dir pins turns the motor.
That board also looks like it is driven by parallel port and the USB is probably only for power.
