I've got a Huanyang HY01D511B VFD. I've got two air-cooled 1.5kw 110v 400Hz spindles, a Stepperonline GDZ80F-1.5A4 and a Huajiang EYS80-43-24.

My VFD configuration:

PD001=0
PD002=1

PD003=400
PD004=400
PD005=400

PD007=20
PD008=110
PD009=15
PD010=8

PD011=120

PD014 Acceleration=12
PD015 Deceleration=12

PD141=110
PD142=7
PD143=2
PD144=3000

PD70=0
PD72=400
PD73=120

The Huajiang spindle works like a champ, and it's lighter than the Stepperonline, but it's gonna require some different mounts for the new Z-Slider I've got. Not a huge hurdle, but still.

The Stepperonline will work well with the mounts I've already got, but the spindle itself (or my VFD settings) seems to be...off. When I hit RUN and dial up the pot on the VFD, the Stepper seems to max out at about 250 RPM, whereas the Huajiang spins up to 24k reliably. I added grounds to both motors, and I've done resistance checks on everything and both cables ring out good, but I ordered some new Chainflex just in case. I'm just using some 4/16 cable (insulated, but not shielded) now to test, so I know my wiring is not ideal, but I'm perplexed how two similarly-spec'd motors could behave so differently.

The Stepperonline is rated at "5A" and the Huajiang at "8A", which seems to be the only documented difference in the specs. I put the Amp rating in quotes because I'm not sure I trust either one to reliable.

Any ideas on what I might be able to check/try while I wait for the new Chainflex to arrive? Until I've got the proper cabling in place, on the one hand I'm reluctant to monkey around with this too much, but on the other hand it's bugging the crap out of me and I want to monkey around with it until I figure out what's what.
