    What do you call these black knobs?

    Hey G'day folks.

    For the life of me I can not name or find a name for the black knobs as per photo.

    What are they called please if anyone knows.

    I would like to buy some but.......

    Carbatec sell an Imperial clamp set.
    I wanted 6mm threads and couldnt find any, so i made some. Used long flanged nuts off ebay.

    Totally approve.
    And I bet they were cheaper than McMaster-Carr!

    Mind you, one can buy FOUR of them, with M6 thread, from eBay (from China) for about $1.60 total.

    The ones I found were only about 35mm diamtre.
    Too small....not enough torque so mine are 60 mm dia.

    Understood, but will the connection between the insert and the plastic take high forces? I wonder.
    Sometimes the diameter of the knob reflects the strength of the unit.

    Thumb nuts, thumb knobs, thumb screws. I got set off ebay and another set off Amazon (if you have Amazon)

    They were good prices as well but they don't ship to AU..

    I've managed to find some now on eBay..

    m6*32 and m8*32

    Ok.I found them too small.

    These were the ones I WAS going to buy but I amde some instead. Still can if it comes down to it.
