Need some advice/assistance re configuration and Z axis is nutty.

    Hey G'day,

Ok having some teething issues, I was going to do a live cut with the new axbb box, didn't quite go the way I was expecting.

I have uploaded a couple of youtube videos so you can see whats going on. Each video is about 10/15 secs with audio. Both of the videos are Z movement with axbb and g540.

I have replaced. rewired the Z.

    01 d9 plugs male/female
02 wiring to and from d9 to driver.
    03 driver to axbb.
04 replaced driver, switched drivers around.
    05 replaced stepper.
06 removed checked coupler to make sure it wasn't slipping.
07 calibrated and re calibrated many times, funny thing is I can't seem to manually enter numbers I was going to use the setting I had on g540 and start from there - but for whatever reason I can only do auto config. As a by the by I am running the dev version of UCCNC 1.2110 apparently its the only version that will work currently with the axbb according to Balazs.
08 even got out the multi meter checking wires from end to end..
09 changed stepper driver setting went from high to low to high / re calibrating each time same results.

Worst thing is which is what I did last, I should have probably done before I started pulling wires and replacing things.
I started all this at about 8 am this morning and wandered back in the house it was nearly 9pm LOL.. the day went quick.
I put back the G540 and the blessed thing works as if it never had a problem.

So stuffed if I know now.. I have screen shots of the config and diagnostics screen for both the axbb and g540.. So the AXBB X - Y/A and rotary work fine, no steps missed. G540 X - Y/A and Z working as intended so go figure.

Links to youtube and screenshots below.

    Thanks in advance!!

I've put links tot he config/diag pics on my sons server - couldn't attach here..

You are trying to run the steppers way to fast they are missing steps slow them down and then bring the max speeds up to a point where they are not losing steps

    Hey G'day,

Thank you for your post, when you say slow them down. Are you talking about the stepper drivers? Or within UCCNC?

    Cheers,
    Steve

No matter, ty that was the tip I needed.

    All working now as intended!!!!!

Each time I tried to set the velocity it would revert back to whatever was in the box. I kept forgetting to hit enter and take auto set off!!

Thank you for taking the time! And apologies to those that went looking at my links and pics. Hope you all had at least half a decent chuckle.

    Cheers and avagreatday,

    Steve

There is a checkbox in the settings, on the appearance screen which disables the need for the enter key. In case you find it annoying you can turn it off.
