    Burning shield cap

    Hi all,

We have a hypertherm hpr260xd that keeps burning the shield caps. The machine will do one cut and then will not cut the second cut. When we check. We find the shield cap is damaged

    Re: Burning shield cap

Best bet is to either work with your machine supplier (OEM that built and sold you your machine) or contact Hypertherm technical service. They will help you quickly solve the issue. Be sure you have information about the process , power, each individual consumable part number (pictures would also help) that were in the torch when the shield failure occurred, as well as the material type and thickness being cut. If you need contact info for tech service in your region it can be found in the HPRXD system operators manual, or on the Plasma, waterjet and laser cutting systems from Hypertherm website. Jim Colt
