    12V where 5 should be

    I am working with the TX14207 from my Chinese CNC machine and I am reading 12V where the board says 5V, any ideas?

    Is this voltage an output/supply or a supply feed into a board?

    what is the supply voltage your using ?
    and what point on the TX1407 board have you used for the volt meters negative connection ?

    first thoughts are either the LM2576S voltage regulator on the TX1407 has failed or

    you could of connected the meter to the power supplies negative terminal
    and your 12V reading is the 5V you expected plus 7 V dropped by the negative wire connecting the TX1407 stepper driver to the power supply
