Due to the long focal length lens, the focal length is wide and the power density is sufficient for cutting thicker metal materials. Ensuring that the relative cutting focus position is constant to the workpiece is an important condition for achieving stable cutting quality.

Sometimes, the lens is heated and causes a change in focal length due to poor cooling, which requires timely adjustment of the focus position.

When the focus is in a better position, the cutting gap is smaller, and a better cutting speed can achieve a better cutting effect, which can greatly improve production efficiency.

In most applications, the beam focus is adjusted below the nozzle. The distance from the nozzle to the surface of the workpiece is typically about 1.5 mm.

Effect of No.2 speed on cutting quality

On the basis of a good cutting focal length setting, the cutting speed is consistent with the formula, and the cutting speed of the material is proportional to the laser power density. That is, the cutting speed is increased as the power is increased.

Especially for cutting metal materials, the laser cutting speed has a relative adjustment range while other cutting parameters are unchanged. It is still possible to maintain good cutting quality by increasing power and speed.

For continuous wave output fiber lasers, the setting of laser power output and mode selection has a significant impact on the quality of the cut.
