    Water cooled spindle

    Hello

I just finished an aluminium extrusion CNC mill project, which I'm currently using with a router Boch colt 1.0 hp.

Now, I want to limit the noise first, and increase the power of the engine a little with a water cooled spindle.

I'm in a dilemma, I use a standard 110v household with mostly 15 amp breakers. Obviously, I'm looking for a relatively powerful engine that could go up to 1/2" shank (if possible with my 110v setup). I'm not so knowledgeable in electricity, but I think I could be limited by the type of power I use.

I would like to know your opinion and suggestions on the subject.

I'm considering the following two products:

    1) VFD CNC spindle 110v 2.2 Kw er20 collet (1st choice)
    2) VFD CNC spindle 110v 1.5 Kw er11 collet (2nd choice)

    Thank you !

    Jack

    Re: Water cooled spindle

    Hi matey.
    Well in terms of sizes:
ER11 collets go up to 7mm diameter.
ER20 collets go up to 13mm diameter.

You said you want to use 0.5" shank tooling (1/2" I assume your meaning) which is 12.7mm diameter.
Pretty much answers the question, the ER20.
