    Emergency stop 802D

    Hej!

I'm installing a 802D system on a turning machine and have some questions about the emergency stop, and how it used to be implemented in Siemens machines in general. In particular where the emergency stop reset used to be placed. The machine panel (MCP) seams the most integrated solution. Is this how it used to be? If, is it then the labeled button "Reset" or a custom button? Or does is used to be a separate button?

Then the emergency stop needs to follow the EN standards referenced by Siemens. Attaching a sequence diagram for fun

If someone knows more details about this it's very appreciated. Thanks!

Not exactly sure what your end goal is, perhaps worth referencing to the 802's base line commissioning manual.
The e-stop switch from the MCP can be set to whatever bit and/or signal you need the NCK to act upon during commissioning.
In most case it is set as braking and reset.

Best place to ask for advice, imho, would be at the support.industry forum

Thanks, since this is my first contact with a Siemens system my intention was to know more about how the Reset of the e-stop normally is set by the operator. What button is used as Reset, that in the end sets the reset bit . Sure I can pick whatever button I like but I would like to follow what most used manufacture standard. The manuals only specify the addresses, not the hardware as far as I have seen.

Thanks for the Siemens support forum!

In that case you can simply refer to the baseline comm for the 802D. Baseline that most OEM used at the time.

ps; spares for the 802 are now virtually impossible to find or very hard if any. If you are doing a retofit, and on a budget, I'd recommend to look into the 828D (Sinamics120) or at the very least the 808 (Sinamics70). Both very capable controllers.

    Re: Emergency stop 802D

When reading the manual or the other manuals I find about 802D (operating, functions etc) I never find any recommendation what button to use for the emergency stop reset. My best guess is still the Reset button on the MPA but I have not seen that in any documentation yet.

I'm still confused as to what you are trying to accomplish exactly. Are you commissioning a 802D from scratch (STEP7) or... operating a CNC machine equipped with a 802D?
The e-stop switch brakes the machine and shuts down the 24V. The reset switch on the mcp brakes and resets the ncu (just forcing a power-on, if I'm not mistaken).

Are you trying to say there are no e-stop switch on your controller or something?

    Re: Emergency stop 802D

Sorry for my bad explanation. I'm installing a complete new 802D from scratch on a custom build turning machine. The project was delayed (a lot) and the 802D with all drivers and motors have just been collecting dust.

Now I design the assembly of the 802D plus all other components. The 24 V power is controlled by a safety relay witch the emergency button controls. The safety relay immediately controls a PLC input (V2600 0000.1) on emergency stop and after a time shuts down the servo power. This part of the design is fine, I think. But then when the reset of the e-stop should be made I don't know what the standard button is for this (to set V2600 0000.2 and V3000 0000.7). Is this the "Reset" button on the MCP? I don't know since I never used a Siemens system (only other CNC systems). I don't know if the "Reset" button on the MCP is to clear alarms etc...

Thanks for being patiens with me!

That e-stops switch needs to be hardwired, although sending a reset/alarm too (V3000 0000.7).
Advise you to get in touch with the S7 folks at industry.siemens forum where you'll find 'authorized' siemens automation tech, they'll sort you out real quick I'm sure.

    G'luck
