Want to route text for labels

    Hi folks
    Hoping someone can help.
I have purchased a Chinese CNC router 3018.
This was purchased mainly for work, routing and later laser, (making plant ID labels for machinery and equipment)(text and numbers), and also for me to learn what is good and bad for my personal build.
The unit come with its standard program, which works in sample demo.
I will be working in Graffolite type material (2 layer plastic) and the idea is to engrave the text and then cut out the shape.
I have loaded Inkscape to create the vectors and Unicorn for the G code files.
    It doesn't work.
What free programs do you guys recommend to do this work?
Am I going down the wrong path?
I am looking for something simple so once running, the guys in the workshop can quickly do labels as required.
Thanks for any help in advance, cheers, John

Hi John, the application software could be GBRL. Google it and have a try. Good luck.
