    Best CNC mill parts

    Hi,
    I know this is hard questions but what is the best parts for building a CNC mill?

    What brand of servo motors/system should I use?
    Who makes the best planetary gearboxes for servo motors (lowest backlash)?
    Spindle and motor?

    I know how hard and expensive it is to build a CNC mill, but I will try to build a high quality 5 axis mill.

    No doubt about that servo motor is your only option since you want to build a high quality 5-axis mill.
    And the mechnical desgin is a key point.Whether you should or should not use planetary gearboxes depends on the operation load and motion model.
    Last, you need to buy a 5-axis CNC system, that is quite expensive. Recommend FANAC OR SEIMENS.
