Milling AR15 Bolt Carrier Need Some advice

I am trying to lighten my AR15 bolt. This is just a cheap one so thought I would give it a whirl. I have a Harbor Freight X2 Mill and kinda a novice at this. I bought a carbide endmill and this past weekend tried to cut it...
That was a joke! The mill touched that Bolt Carrier and acted like it was made of un-cuttable material. The endmill heated up and never got anything cut.

    So here's my questions...
Yes I have the X2 i wanna be a mill machine but it should be able to cut it yes?
Is this steel so hard that no use in trying or what is the secret? Type of endmill etc?

I guess I can use a grinder to get the most material gone then clean up with an endmill but how should I do this?
