    curious toolpath problem

    Hi everyone,
I am milling architectural models for university students on a 4x8 AXYZ converted to Mach 3.
    Rhinocam creates the toolpath.
In the picture, the stepover is 30 thou with a 1/4" ballnose.
At the end of every pass, the toolpath changes. It looks to me like the Z is raising slightly to make the stepover appear wider (60 thou). It doesnt matter how slow I go (speed is 80 ipm)or which cutter I use.
Does anyone have any ideas what could cause this ?
There is no play in the spindle and the problem starts gradually, then becomes static at about 1.5" in length.

    Re: curious toolpath problem

You need to post the program/gcode, and ideally the settings you set in your cam. That way I'm sure someone will be able to give you a hand.
Without this minimum there is absolutely no way anyone can figure out what could be wrong, if anything.
Let them know when you can! G'luck

if you see raising Z in your program lines, problem on cam. otherwise probobly your part is not placed correctly.
