    Roland PNC-5000

    Hi Guys

My Vinyl Cutter Roland PNC-5000 has recently all of a sudden just stopped moving.
The Stepper motor on the belt (cutting head) makes a buzzing noise whether there's a load on it or not which means the carriage doesn't move at all now. I'm hoping it's not a problem from the circuit board side.
does anyone know what might be the issue please? I've attached a video too.

    Many Thanks

If it's buzzing, it probably is getting the signal to move, but can't. Since stepper motors themselves rarely go bad, I'd check for mechanical problems first; see if the axis in question moves freely when powered down.

Swapped it with another motor. Same thing again. Looks like it's the circuit board side just wondering what it could be. Like it's got holding torque.
