Are the LED's on the UB1 step pins coming on?

The LED's on the step pins are on, because they are receiving 5VDC coming from the drivers? The drivers I'm using are DM542A.

No, the LED's are powered by the UB1, and should flash when steps are sent to the drives. I believe they should "flicker" when steps are being sent to the drives.

The LED's are getting power from the driver 5vdc, they are constant I have used the UB1 profile they sent me, but still am not getting movement from the stepper motors.

Gerry is correct in what he is telling you. Sorry to be blunt, but it seems you have little understanding of the electrical connections between the UB1 and your drives.

But, if you can explain in electrical terms how a UB1 >> OUTPUT << can get power from your driver >> INPUT << (which is shown as an isolated opto input in the drive manual), then you will have educated a lot of the most electrically experienced guys on many CNC forums.

I suggest you re-read the manuals for the UB1 and your drive, and come back once you understand the electrical circuit. Then clearly explain exactly where this 5v connection is on your drive, and where it connects to the UB1 to "give it power" to the step outputs.
