Hi,

I am using PlanetCNC for a while now and I am pretty satisfied. Until now I generated the g-code in another CAM Software and used PlanetCNC only for machining.

Now I wanted to use the import functions for SVG, DXF or Image - but they simply dont work.

I am doing the following:

File -> Import SVG -> Select SVG (from local Filesystem) -> do not change any Settings -> OK.
There is no Gcode generated, nothing happens.

I tried changing different Settings on Import - no Luck.
I tried different Imports (DXF, Image) - the same.
I tried a SVG from a PlanetCNC Howto to be sure the SVG is OK. Same.

No errors in the Log.

I am using PlanetCNC 2023-06-20 on Ubuntu 23.04. Does anyone know this issue?

Hi,

I've found it out. The problem is related to the "new" X Server "Wayland". It is used by default since Ubuntu 21.04 in 2021. When using the old XOrg everything works fine (there is a little gear Symbol on the login screen where you can switch the X Server if somebody has the same problem, see screenshot)

At some day in the future the old XOrg will not be supported anymore - so it would be cool if someone from the PlanetCNC Team is addressing this issue.

I doublechecked with Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS and there are no issues.
Dxf import also works without any issues. Your problem is elsewhere.
