    movement problem with my CNC

    Hello friends
I made a hobby OX CNC as per openbuilds 750x750mm., I had minimal problems here and there, then I upgraded to the Chinese CHAOGE 4 axis offline controller and all good, then I bought 4 closed-loop NEMA23 motors, and the first project was a failure, the finishing pass of a wood 3d relief, went astray.
then I cur some plywood, and all good, but I noticed that the small circular cuts are crooked with a smaller diameter in the X-axis.
I tried a dial indicator to diagnose a backlash on the X-axis, but I found something very peculiar. when I change direction below 1 mm diameter 0.1, 0.01mm, the first 2 to three movies don't produce a sound from the machine and indicator shows very small movement then goes ahead, the indications are not precise as they should be, but maybe because of the inaccurate chines indicator

but. the change in movement does not lead the to even half the intended move and does not produce a sound in the machine...
any ideas. is it the motor??
the Y and Z axis do not show the same behavior

Good to hear you found the issue already. It sounded like backlash and apparently that is what you found.
