    sub spindle

im trying to lock my sub spindle still and use my main chuck to turn with but once you lock the sub spindle with the m110/m147 it wont let you out of 2nd spindle mode to turn with the main spindle.

That is because the C-axis is now in relation to the turret that it is controlled by. It cannot switch to a new coordinate system while controlling the c-axis in a different coordinate system.

Can you just use the M19 command to hold the spindle still?

What are you trying to accomplish by holding it still?

    Best regards,
Experience is what you get just after you needed it.

hy mr wizard, maybe he has a live center in it ?! m19 is not so powerfull; if i put an allen key inside a screw inside a jaw, i can diff m19 by 0.2-0.3*, but i diff 110+147 only 0.003*

for such situations, on a machine without C and without m19, someone used to ductape his 2nd spindle, in order to keep it steady

maybe there is an interlock / kindly
