    Planet CNC returns

    Morning,

I have a Boxford 160TCL I need to convert to new electronics. I'm looking at PlanetCNC parts, as they look pretty straightforward. Only thing putting me off is their disclaimer in the user manual:

CONTROLLER AND CONTROLLER SOFTWARE ARE PROVIDED TO YOU "AS IS," WITHOUT
WARRANTY. THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR THE CONTROLLER AND CONTROLLER
SOFTWARE, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE
IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
AND NONINFRINGEMENT OF THIRD PARTY RIGHTS. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY
AND PERFORMANCE OF THE CONTROLLER OR CONTROLLER SOFTWARE IS WITH YOU.
SHOULD THE CONTROLLER OR CONTROLLER SOFTWARE PROVE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME
THE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR OR CORRECTION.

As I read it, it is saying that if they ship you duff parts, you're on your own. Has anyone had any experience of this? I'm not keen on the idea of ordering some fairly expensive parts that turn out to be no use.

This is just some legal stuff that lawyers need. Basically it is a copy/paste statement that is used by most companies and is usually printed in smallest possible letters :-)
