I could use a bit of basic guidance on which parameters on the VFD I should look at to get the spindle running properly. I'm in a bit over my head with the setup. From reading the VFD manual, it appears that the VFD default settings are for use with a more standard drill press / lathe type motor. I have the wiring down ok ( I think ).
The VFD is a TMX model TD-200 VFD, 115 volt single Ph in and 230 volt 3 Ph out.
The spindle is a fairly generic 1 HP model KL-800A with spec's as follows :
Input Voltage |
: 220V Single Phase or 3 Phase |
Speed |
8000-24000R/min |
Power |
800W |
Frequency |
400Hz |
I did adjust the VFD's maximum frequency to 400 but that's it. I keep getting an OL2 error message on the VFD ( I suspect that may mean nothing outside of the TMX world.) The manual describes the cause of the OL2 error as : Voltage setting V/F mode is too high resulting in over-excitation of the motor; Motor rated current set incorrectly; Load too heavy.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
