Machine cutting all messed up ??

    Hello every one

My machine is been cutting all messed up i am not sure why.
i make my code with Aspire and everything seam good in there
and i do a test cut 1" x 0.5" and everything is good

Any one have any ideas ????
Is there some kind of setting in mach that will cause this ???

    Thanks

I think you need to check the geometry of your engraving tool.It clearly has a sharp, fine point or you wouldn't get the well defined corners of your letters. The V angle may be at odds with the tool properties of the tool in your tool library and the toolpath is generated for the tool that Aspire believes you will be using and would probably work if the tool in your machine was that shape.I haven't used Aspire and can't be certain whether the tool library defines a V engraving tool by the total included angle between the cutting edges or the angle from one edge to the tool axis.I think you will need to accurately measure your tool and edit the tool library to calculate the engraving path from the actual angle of the tool in question. Then touch off very carefully on a workpiece to establish a Z datum and try a test cut.Good luck.

Yes, looks like the tool angle is different from what was specified in Aspire.
Also might be an issue with material thickness. It must be exactly what is specified in Aspire when V Carving.

I did check the angle of the tool etc... a few times, tried different tools its just a plane 90 degree v bit
I never thought the thickness of the wood in aspire would make a difference,
I will check that and get back to you

I also seen in mach that the path it takes is a bit off of what its supposed to do
What causes that ?? CV ??

    Thanks

I double checked everything, my wood was set to 0.75" when it is actually 0.70"
double checked my height etc.. Machine is tight
tool at the tool path mach took at the sharp 90o and 45o it took a short cut, rounded the corners

How can i make mach take the exact tool path ???

    Thanks

Then you need to adjust your CV settings. I think in Mach4, there's a CV wizard?
