    Butyl tape woes

I just moved shop and had to disassemble and reassemble my enclosure. The butyl tape doesn't seal well to begin with and was an absolute nightmare to try to reseal. I ended up removing it all and using Permatex Right Stuff everywhere I had a panel joint.

Maybe I'm not familiar with this stuff, but right now I'm of a mind to never touch butyl tape again.

Can you get hold of butyl rubber in a tube?It works well once you know how to clean the surplus off.

RV stores and amazon have butyl rubber caulk. Make sure it's deigned for vertical joints (not self leveling).

I skipped the butyl and went to silicone for mine. Much easier to remove if it needs to be moved. Only leak I had was a screw for the window on the left side.
