    Connecting Digital Drivers with LinuxCNC

    Hi,

I am just getting started with building a CNC machine for the first time, therefore have a big learning curve ahead.
I got stepper motors and drivers kits for Christmas. The drivers are DM556S (from Stepperonline) and I would like to use LinuxCNC.
I am not 100% sure how to connect them. Can you tell me if each of the following setup would work.

    1) Regular parallel port —> MESA 7175 Breakout/FPGAprotection card —> DM556S drivers.
    2) MESA 5I25 Superport FPGA —> MESA 7I76 Daughtercard —> DM556S drivers.
    3) MESA 7I96 Ethernet interfaced Step&Dir plus I/O —> DM556S Drivers

If you prefer one of these setup over the others or if you have other recommendations, let me know.

Thank you in advance for your help.

All should work but I would choose option 2 or 3 or If you want to first try LinuxCNC with a parallel port,
I would use one of the inexpensive Ebay "Mach3 5 Axis" BOBs rather then a 7I75
