I seriously need help folks.

I have a KT-2514 control box controlling my router and successfully engraved a design the last time in 2018. It came with a custom milling profile for me.

The Dell Optiplex 380 just packed up so I replaced it with the HP Elite 8100. OS is XP in both machines.

But I have not been able to get any motor movements since I made this change.

Before I connect the control box, the Status is "Driver Successfully Installed" and clicking the Reset button sets it's boundary to green.

As soon as I connect the control box, the "Driver Successfully Installed" is immediately followed by the "External E-Stop Requested" error message.

I have checked inside the control box and all three Gecko drives' leds are lit. I cannot detect any problems in the cables.

What am I doing wrong please anyone?

Have you configured youe E Stop in Mach 3?
Config> Ports and Pins. Scroll down to E Stop Input.

A custom profile came with the machine when I purchased it and I have used the router and control box with the supplied profile before now.

The supplied E-Stop setting is shown in the attachment.

Nonetheless, I will try the suggestion and revert later in the day today.

I have checked and disabled the probe as well as the Activelow; still no change.

What settings do you have Set in MB BIOS for the Parallel Port ? I assume you're using the PP

What happens when you press the E Stop?
If the error clears then it is configured opposite to what it should be.
E Stops are usually wire Normally Closed ( NC ) so they are Fail Safe, ie if the circuit breaks for any reason, the Machine stops.

The ECP Printer Port (LPT1) > Properties > Resources path shows the two available options listed below:

Is the fact that there are two different lines of any significance?

Additionally, in the Details tab, the device instance Id is ACPI\PNP... Some of the success stories that were reported in the solution of similar challenges included changing the ACPI to Standard in the BIOS. I intend to make this attempt shortly and revert.

Hello Sterob and thank you for the response.

I watched the first few training videos at the ArtSoft website yesterday for the first time ever since 2006 when I purchased my system and the experience was eyeopening - and humbling!

As a result, I have a modified version of the original profile that I received that does not throw up any error messages when I jog the axes.

The DRO readings change but not the axes.

But I plan to complete the "Troubleshooting" video shortly and will revert thereafter.

Hello everyone.

I am now quite confused; absolutely nothing has worked.

I did get movement in the Z-axis only. The motor got quite hot and I finally got very smooth movements by making adjustments to the motor tuning settings. But after a while - and I had exited and returned to the profile - all movement in the Z-axis ceased at the same settings and did not move at any other settings. The X and Y axes never moved.

No doubt I am missing some obvious facts: the axes' DRO readings change but the actual machine axes do not.

All guidance is appreciated.

The motor tuning setting for the Z-axis are

Steps per - 4 000
Velocity - 148.4
Acceleration - 33.56
Step pulse 2 to 5
Dir pulse 2 to 5
