Question How to : Fanuc M6-B Automatic Tool Setting Gauge Z axis tool touch sensor for cnc ?

    Hi guys,

could you advice me if it's possible to add touch sensor for Z axis tools on a Fanuc M6-B

    like something like this :

    https://www.amazon.ca/Kehuashina-Aut.../dp/B07FLZMF8M

not sure where to plug the wires or even if the machine can do this.

    thanks for the advice.

Do you have the user macro option? The G31 skip option? if yes , then yes.

If no, then I dont think so.

    MDI this #100=1
if you get an alarm you dont have macros.
if it digests that, and you can find the macro variable screen, and 100=1. Then you will need the wiring diagram for that machine to find the skip inputs.

If you cannot find where the MTB brought the skip input out. You can trace it from the Fanuc connection unit as it will always be in the same spot there. But that is not for the faint of heart.

I recently went through this on my 6-B Mori in order to have part probing. Adding User macro and G31. Once everything was complete the results were disappointing. The processor is painfully slow. Renishaw macro execution that happens on a newer machine in the blink of an eye, takes an eternity.

Tool setting would not be quite as bad I imagine.
