    AXBBE to VFD

    Hello,

I'm hoping someone could help me connect my AXBBE up to my VFD, I've seen a few descriptions on here and on YouTube but my VFD is labeled up slightly different so I'm just not 100% sure how it's done. My VFD came with my 2.2kw Spindle and I'm guessing it's not that great...as I don't think I've seen any others on here, hence why I'm struggling I've attached a pictures of the VFD and Wiring Diagrams for the AXBBE and VFD.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Kind Regards,

    Phil

    Re: AXBBE to VFD

Normal practice is short 2 terminals on the VFD , with a relay , to Start the Motor( usually Forward....not much need for Reverse ) and wire a variable 0-10Vdc signal from the BOB to the VFD to vary the speed of the motor.
Have you got the manual for the VFD? It should contain a diagram with Inputs and Ouputs wired to it as an example.

I'm not familar with the AXBBE, but someone who is will be along soon...

The AXBBE manual will have a similar diagram. Shouldn't be too hard to match them up.

Hi, yeah I've attached both manuals above with pics of the VFD you must of missed it, lol, thanks for your reply, the problem is I'm a complete novice when it comes to wiring and both manuals are just generic diagrams that someone who knows what they're doing could probably work out but I'm worried about frying something... I did see this explanation below on another forum -

"wire from the axbbe to the vfd as follows

    1) "24V0" to "com"
    2) "02" to "FOR"
    3) "03" to "REV"
    4) "AO1" to "V1"

you then need to wire from "5V0" to "GND" (near V1) too as sometimes they use isolated analog ground connections and the wiring part should be done...."

My VFD doesn't have a 'COM' or 'V1' terminal.....? Fingers crossed someone has the same VFD and an AXBBE that can help me out.

    Cheers,

    Phil

COM is "common" which is labeled GND as "ground" in you VFD.

Great, thank you, don't suppose you know what V1 on my VFD is to do you...?

Need to see more of the VFD manual, but it looks like this to me:

AO1 from AXBB to 10Vin on the VFD
5V0 from AXBB to GND on VFD

Wire a relay to O1 and 24V0 on the AXBB.
The relay should be wired to switch FWD and GND on the VFD.

    Hi Gerry,

I've attached another page of the VFD Manual below, is this any better? I got a relay on order so that should be with me tomorrow hopefully...

    Re: AXBBE to VFD

So as i'm not well up on wiring, I though i'd draw the wiring out 1st and post on here to make double sure I've understood what is needed...I do have a few questions, there are quite a few different Relays and I'm not sure if this one is the correct one or not, so if someone could confirm that would be great, the one in the picture is a - Arceli KY-019 5v one Channel Relay I'm also not sure which terminals are which as this Relay didn't have any doccumentation with it....If it's not the right one, could someone point me in the right direction...?

    Thanks again,

    Phil
