    11" of Y on 1100M vs 10" on PCNC1100

Does anyone have both an 1100M and an original PCNC1100?

The 1100M, M+ and MX all have 11" of Y travel.
The original PCNC had 10 or 9.75 depending on the vintage.

Looking at the exploded parts manual for the mill(s) it seems they use exactly the same base castings and same gibs etc....
The ball screw and the blocks that hold the front y axis way covers seem to be only things that changed.....

Hoping you get an answer. I bought a used 1100 Series 3 in July, 2019. I'd love to gain another inch in Y.

There was a guy selling a machine in the Houston area who said he'd changed his 1100 S3 to 11" Y travel with a ball screw change. I emailed him for some info but didn't get a reply. There's an ADMIN command that'd have to be issued too for max travel after a screw change. You can find in on this site with a little searching.

just got around to checking mine and it is 9.5 to the limits switches. At the extreme the bellows type covers are close to tight.

    My PCNC1100 has 10" of Y.
One of the part differences on the 1100M is different Bellows block mounts....

My 1100 is 10.125 in Y and 19.25 in X, Y was a simple switch block adjustment/modification, the X was a bit more trouble involving a spacer on the ballscrew.
