Making Z axis not lift all the way up everytime.

    Hi All ,,

I am making some upgrades for my cnc and thus im milling holes into aluminium to make the sides for my gantry.

Right now its taking me about 1 hour for each hole , but im thinking i could reduce that time alot if i could make it only lift about 2mm over each pass height to clear the chips instead of lifting to safe zone that is 5mm over the workpiece..

im making holes 9.5mm with a 4mm single flute endmill..

Any ideas on how that would be possible are appriciated as im still in the learning process " 1.5 years now ".. he he

    Best regards ,,

Post the main line of code and I will correct it for you here is an example in inch

    G73G98X1.Y1.Z-.200R.1Q0.1F8.

G98 will act with R value when the cycle is finished and lift the Z axis up by this value

Q is the peck or chip break you want to use

    G83G98X1.Y1.Z-.200R.1Q.01F8.

This will lift the drill out of the part by the Q value while cutting

After the cycle is finished it will move the Z axis up by the R value

Hi Mactec , and thx for the reply ., sorry for the late answer though.

As i am a total noob when it comes to code , i must say i have not the SLIGHTEST idea where to find it , or is it just the ncp file i use to send to my cnc ?

    Best regards ,
