    Coolant Splash

When using the lathe without a full enclosure coolant will come out the front of the machine and you'll soon be standing in a puddle of coolant. By adding this flap onto the shield most of the coolant now stays inside the machine.

Also, coolant was splashing out of the space between the drain and coolant tank so I added a rubber boot to contain it like so:

    I used some 1/16" thick Fabric-Reinforced Multipurpose Neoprene Sheet from McMaster-Carr P/N 8698K31

Very nice solution to the problem. With some clean looking fab work like all your projects!
Something to consider if you need more. At local home depot they sell neoprene "shower basin liner". Comes in 30" wide roll and is sold by foot. Not reinforced but about the same product. Its made to line -seal plywood floors before terrazzo basins and or other material is poured in and shaped.

Sweet, I just got a roll of that to make a waycover ala Robin Renzetti and I didn't know what I would do with the rest.
