OKUMA CROWN CNC LATHE OSP700L LEAVING SPINDLE RUNNING

    Hello

I am a newbie to Okuma anything. I am programming an Okuma Crown CNC Lathe with an OSP 700L controller. i was wanting to know if i could leave the spindle running while going to tool chance position and changing tools to save time waiting for spindle to ramp up. i could shorten my tool change position but no need if i have to Waite for spindle to ramp up

    thanks for any help

!st question should be yes by not placing an m5 at the end of the tool code before the next tool call
second i can't answer for sure as i run an lb15 with the osp5020 control but the manual say's that if you have a servo driven turret you can
    1) unclamp the turret before going to the safe index point
    2) index the turret
3)clamp the turret going to the position point for the indexed tool

care must be taken when doing this
maybe THEOKUMAGUY can chime in on this his answer are usually pretty good
there is also a setup reduction post that is good to look at

People do not understand the question.
When running the program on a lathe, if the program has a command to change the tool, the lathe will move the turret to a certain position, stop the spindle, change the tool, run the spindle to continue. He wanted to ask if there is any way that when changing a tool there is no need to stop the spindle? to shorten machining time. The time to stop then run the spindle takes about 3 to 15 seconds depending on the machine.
In my opinion it is in parameter, but I don't know which parameter, because I don't have the documentation of the machine.

Shorten tool change , change where machine home is make it closer to spindle.
i need the M05 so i can use bar puller
i just want to leave spindle running during tool change.

Yes you can just do G97 S1500 G0 X20 Z20 (tool change position)

If you add M203 to the line the turret will unclamp during the rapid move on servo turret machines.
Experience is what you get just after you needed it.

    Yes:

    G97 S1500 G0 X20 Z20 M203 M63
( will rapid away, not wait for RPM arrival, and unclamp the turret during rapid)
    X1 Z1 S2500 M63 T010101
( will rapid to part, not wait for RPM arrival, and clamp the turret during rapid)

Good for at least 1.5 sec reduction each index. More depending on RPM change.
Experience is what you get just after you needed it.
