The settings you posted for the color have been absolutely amazing and so helpful! Do you have any idea how I would figure out the settings for doing white markings or black plastic? Or what company / person I could reach out to for general guidance

    Re: 60w mopa and ezcad2

happy to help, i just got my base info from wuhan laser where i bought the laser, they were pretty helpful, beyond that its all been experimentation to be honest

test grids help the most, but i do need to play more the Q factor in the app, though you can mod it in ezCad

    Re: 60w mopa and ezcad2

Finally got some time to look at the format some more, and I think i've got the Q fixed for the MOPA laser, how this will affect Lasers that don't have Q, i'm not sure. so if you have one of those , post a couple of .EZD files with different parameters and some screenshots or something with the differences so i can take a look.

There are two places Q is stored, offsets from the base.

one as a 4 byte long at 0x3c
one an 8 byte double at 0xdc

the app edits/displays the value that is stored at the long.

Still have been struggling to find the correct settings for engraving light color on black nylon plastic. Do you have any suggestions on what to start with ?

    Hi charliex

Reading your blog you noted that you figured out how to allow load/save without the controller connected, can you share the mod required?

This is really impressive, thank you.

can you confirm the "save" patch or make teh dll available on github? looking to work on EZCAD from a remote machine (test patterns etc). The version of 2.14.11 DataMgr.dll does not have the hex sequence: 8B 44 24 04 A3 88 E4 to update to: 31 C0 FF C8 A3 88 E4

    downloaded 2.14.11 here (was at .10) : https://ezcad.com/index.php?/files/f...ad-2-software/

based on the blog post here: https://charliex2.wordpress.com/2020...e-games-begin/

that doesn't make it easier! Any chance you can post your version of EZCAD to GitHub or IM me with your e-mail so I can send a drop box link?

Appreciate the consideration & effort you put into this. On your blog I posted a thought on generating test matrices based on user input of parameters. I would gladly make a contribution to you for a tool like that!

have you looked at joining some of the laser forums? I'm not much of Facebook user, however the groups have good content on occasion. CO2 groups are really good.

www.rayfinetech.com/download.html this one should have a version with the bytes i posted.

i usually just post here and reddit laser forums, i don't have a fb account .

i haven't RE'd the geometry aspect of the ezcad file yet to do custom hatches.

(note sure if cnczone is having issues since it was deny me access, so apologies if multiple post)

    Re: 60w mopa and ezcad2

Appreciate the response. I posted your pen tool to the facebook group, a lot of interest, pretty sure if you added the hatching you would get a fair number of small donations to make it worth your time.

on another interesting note there was a post claiming to resolve some of the memory issues with EZCAD - Posted a copy of the post below

FYI - the rayfine download isn't the same, amazing how many variants of the same version of EZCAD are out there, that much for configuration management
    https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/...e72139/details

    post on memory issue: https://www.facebook.com/groups/4400...93585974306585

Does ezcad 2 sux for you? Low memory all the time but have heaps spare? Crashing loading complex vectors or tight hatching.
Well roll on up as I have the fix for you!
Brought to you by insanity, late nights and thinking out of the box - I have edited the EZcad main EXE file to add a flag call "Large Memory Aware" - means it can now use up to the max 32bit memory of 4GIG!!! Amazing - 1990s tech in 2020 yay!
A few of us have now confirmed it to be working well - please note that while processing it still says "Not responding" but if you wait a bit - it will come back
So where can you get these awesome files? well.... call 1800-EZ-CRASH... and find it goes no where ????
Download the version you want from the inks below from my one drive - if AV complains its because I edited the file! Nothing more!
    Enjoy!

    Re: 60w mopa and ezcad2

    cheers,

can't say i've had memory issues with ezcad, its a terrible piece of software but i haven't run into any issues like that.

just be careful setting LAA if the dlls being loaded aren't LAA enabled, and they pass 64 bit addresses, they'll get truncated.

the rayfine one should have the same code sequence, i did take a look at it.
