I know of a magnaturn 612 nearby for sale and am thinking about it to do a complete acorn retrofit on. How rigid/heavy duty are these little lathes? I recently had to use a Chinese import grizzly 6" lathe at work and wow, that thing twisted and bounced all over the place with even the lightest interrupted cuts in mild steel. Are these 2 6" lathes completely different beasts or can I expect similar rigidity from the magnaturn?

From the little bit you can read about magnaturn lathes online there are a lot of guys who dump all over them. What I can gather, it's because of the hydraulic feeds in the larger lathes going bad and the electronics? It sounds like the 612 lathe used balls crews vs hydraulics in every one right?
