AutoCAD R14 3d Model to G-code to CNC

    Hi,
I am kind of a newbie at this and was wonering if anyone knows about a good program that would run with AutoCad R14 to create toolpaths etc. and get my part cut. I was looking at something fairly cheap in price.
Thank you very much for your time.
    I really appreciate it. :rainfro:

    Paul, was this it?

    http://www.autocode.com/aco/entry.htm

    or maybe this?

    http://www.tahlcam.com/index.html

But I don't think any of them can do "real" 3D.

I've been using Tahlcam for several years. Because it works inside Autocad, I consider that a big advantage over other CAM systems.

It is very easy to generate 2d - 2 1/2d toolpaths from your lines and arcs. If you use a solid (drawn in acad or imported), you can extract a face or edge (using Autocad commands) and use that geometry.

It creates paths from the Autocad geometry and stores each path in its own layer. You can modify a path after its created using standard acad commands.

The preview of the toolpath is very good. The tool image is shown as it goes around the geometry in any view you want. If you use multiple viewports, you can watch plan view and front view at the same time. Using solids, and a shaded view, gives a very realistic animation.

Its easy to modify the order of the operations, Work with only the current path, or set of paths. It has a good drill/tap path routine.

I like to generate my own 3d paths using a 3dpolyline. It will post that along with the other paths.

The post can be configured for your machine. I post to a Haas.
