I've been using VCarve Pro 8 with its Drag Knife Gadget for years.
I finally discovered what may be a coding/converting flaw. It took so long because of the shapes I was cutting at the time.
If you have a shape or path with both sharp corners and curves; based on the offset specified, not only does the gadget create the corner actions,
it ALSO converts the curves to a series of line segments and small corners. The bigger the curve radius, the more noticeable these segments are.
I never noticed this because all my curve/corner combo shapes had tight radius curves, where these segments applied were very small.
I noticed it when I went to add sharp corners to a snowboard shape which has large radius curves.
Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon? For curved shapes, specifying a near zero (.0001) offset produces the best results.
I'm going to try to split the paths between the curves and the angles; however, I fear that based on offset, these paths will not align at their start and end points.
Thanks
