Hi all
I think I have a problem with my breakout board
It's a HG08 from cnc4you
X and Z axis working fine
But Y axis moves only one direction when using keyboard or when I hit tab and click on arrow direction using mouse,
I have checked all wiring,
Have checked all pins on serial cable,
Have swapped out serial cable for new one, but no difference,

But the HG08 board has a A axis output,
So I plugged my Y driver into the A axis on breakout board,
In pin and ports, motor outputs
I changed my Y axis step pin and dir pin to the
A axis,
Resigned my A axis hotkeys to where my Y axis hotkeys was

And it works fine now jogging it around the table,

But when I run a program Mach still thinks
the original Y axis is controlling the Y movement
But it's not,
So is there any way I can change Machs Y axis to run the A axis permanently,

Badly stuck I could buy a new breakout board

When you changed the pin assignments of the Y axis to those of the A axis, did you also change the A axis pins to those of the former Y axis? If not, it may be confused as to which is what. Usually, axes that run in only one direction have a wire loose somewhere; you might try remaking all the connections to your Y axis motors and logic pins.

Yep I have done that with the A pins

When I swap X and Y outputs from the breakout board to the drivers, the problem ends up on the X axis, so I don't think there is any issue on that side,
Which makes me think it's a problem around the breakout board

I wonder can I change the pins coming out of the pc,
Just so I could rule out any problem with the parallel port,
As I am not using any of the other pins on the port
ie, limits

Just found a solution,
Just had to slave the A axis to the Y axis, so that should be all good now
