Quality from the UK is very poor.
We can't cast anything properly, or do it too much on the cheap.

The latest is the trams in B'ham had to be shut down, they keep cracking.
People too thick to realise that cast aluminium is too brittle to use for the wheel bogies and can't take the weight.
'proper' strength in steel too costly but corner cutting has bit them in the ass.

That failed cover is actually magnesium, a rather nice part if you drain your water after every ride. Pretty worthless if you don't, despite the nearly $200 price. My cover suffers from the same CNC billet issues that all CNC'd parts do, they look like bricks even when whittled down. Castings are so much nicer, IMO. I haven't yet found the patience for doing my own castings, maybe some day...

Pretty happy with the Side B. There are a couple of little things, as usual, my programming is the weakest link.

I think that looks beautiful...I sure couldn't do something like that.

Not exactly a CNC machine update, but the fruits of the CNC machine in this thread is paying off. We are close to race time. A little less than two weeks to go!

We adjusted the squish on the heads, we added some o-ring grooves to energize the base gasket spacer, and along the way we got the Kurbside van body on the 2010 Express chassis and it tows the trailer we built back in 2001 out of Kurbside bodywork and a custom chassis. The machine work was done on the 0704, the rest of it was sweat and hard work.
