    Hi Unstuckanle - I think you need to describe the application a bit better. By waterproof do you mean you are building a boat? and you want no water ingress and no rot? or do you mean to prevent damage if you spill your wine on the furniture? Peter

    I have also read that,

    Tung oil is said to be the best for waterproofing wood, which is why it is the main component in some brands of Danish oil and even some oil-based synthetic finishes. It is the most durable amongst other oils, and more water-resistant than even shellac.
