Hi. My name is Jim Baker. I'm recently retired after years of CAD and CAM using Cadkey - KeyCreator and Vero Visi. Unfortunately all I have left to work with is a copy of Cadkey 99 with NC-Matic. I am trying to help out a friend to get up to speed with CAD and CAM for his shop. He's running 2 turning centers and a 3 axis mill all using FAGOR controls. The only post processors that I have are Fanuc and Anilam. I'm attempting to edit a post for his Fagor mill. Apparently the canned drilling cycles for Fagor are a different animal.
A typical deep drilling line in from my Anilam post to deep drill 4 holes is as follows:
G83 G99 R0.1 Z-0.8 I0.1 J0.01 K0.01 F2 P1.X1 Y1 P0.02
X2 Y2
X3 Y3
X4 Y4
Of course I no longer have an Anilam control to check this on but I don't think the K0.01 is required.
The Fagor manual describes a deep hole line as follows. It's unclear what they are using for the "starting plane". I'm assuming that it is the Z zero and is set at 100mm above the part.
G83 G99 X1 Y1 Z-98 I-22 J3 F100 N1 (N1 being the number of repeats)
My friend is using the top of the part as his Z zero and is running inch units. The hole depth is .8".
I'm assuming the line should read as follows:
G83 G99 X1 Y1 Z1.0 I-0.8 J0.1 N4
X2 Y2
X3 Y3
X4 Y4
This gives him an error. Not sure where to go from here.
I'd much appreciate any comments.
Many Thanks
Jim Baker
