    Check your drivers

    Hello all,
I bought a Chinese 6040 router back in 2014, and have used it quite a bit. I have had no trouble with it except losing the Z stepper driver a few years ago, and the X driver yesterday. My machine used the TB6560 based YOOCNC YOC335 drivers, which are no longer available. I had bought 2 spares when I bought the machine, as this isn't my first rodeo. Anyway, I took the 2 bad ones apart, and sure enough, the TB6560 chips were fried. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that they were bonded to the heatsink with foam tape! No thermal grease at all. Unbelievable. I removed all 3 working drivers, and the 2 new ones were properly bonded to the heatsink, but the original had the tape. I cleaned the tape off and greased it and properly secured it. I am going to replace the 2 fried chips on the others.
