    Hi,

in this case there is best to upgrade CPU rack. Install passive backplane, new CPU, Graphic card, SSD HDD and install the latest 2.37 patched software. I made it many many times, after this it will run for many years.

    Re: BMC30 Boot Problem

Hi Thank you for the reply, Is there a particular board / CPU that is good for this conversion also what graphics card will work for the Hurco, will this fit the original aluminum case or will I need a new chassis ?
and I am hoping my other control cards will fit the backplane
I guess I will need to contact Hurco regarding the software upgrade, thanks in advance

Have you Taken the CPU out can cleaned the terminal that connect to the backplane? then try re seating the board. This sometimes works for a short time but usually means the backplane is on it's way out. The CPU will usually start failing by forgetting bios settings or intermittently booting for a while and then completely die. Does the screen give you anything at all when you boot it up or does it just say "no sync"?

...oxidation is the enemy with any electrical contacts in older machines. Try moving all/any dip switches plugs, pots, pin jumpers or card slots and remove CPU etc. Use contact cleaner if, possible should try a known working Power Supply because assuming something is ok....is the mother of all screw ups
