    Hi, Need some info.. 1 inch tapping, with BT40 holder?

    Hi, Is there anyone tapping 1 inch with BT40 or cat40? Using a Feeler VMC FV-1600 , Meldas 64 control...??

    I would not use a tap, requires too much power. I use thread mills. One part I build has a 1-8 threaded hole, 2 inches deep, 6061 aluminum. I do it in one pass with a 2HP spindle.

    Or a multi-cutter type

    Haha, lol that's me you talked to on the Titan forum...just broke that 600$ Morse tool...now I am scared...I guess I will try again...thanks...any help is much appreciated...

    I thought you might be the same person

    I have used a 1/2 air impact wrench for tapping 1-8, but not recommended for production.

    The good news is that the first tool that I linked to is not $600. It just takes a little longer to thread the hole with the single point.
