What exactly do you want your machine to do to run it in.

How many times do you want it to do it.

What feedrate do you want to use.

When I built my plasma table there was no reason to "run it in", but I did want to check for lost steps after a lot of randon XY moves at rapid speed. All I did was draw a load of zig zaggy lines in cad, and set the table running. My table is 2500 x 1500 so I could fit quite a few lines in, and the test run went for 10 mins.

    Re: gcode

I know someone on the Joe's CNC forum created a Mach3 run in wizard.
The reason was because they use V bearings on angle iron, and used the run in to "pre-wear" the angle iron.

There's no need to "run in" a machine built with any standard type of linear motion components.
