    UC300 ETH-UB1

    Hello Gents

What is this 5V port used for on this UC300 ETH-UB1 board?

Is this to power the ENABLE terminals on the DQ542MA stepper motor drivers?

Using the X axis as an example, I connected the stepper drivers as follows:

    XS+ to PUL+
    XS- to PUL-
    XD+ to DIR+
    XD- to DIR-

I have not powered the board up yet, through the 24V power supply, so do not know yet, if there will be 5V available at that terminal on the board? Or must a 5V DC power supply be connected to this port?

    Regards

    Craig

You can use it to power anything that needs 5V, up to 500mA.
Do NOT connect a power supply to it.

    Hello Gerry

Thank you for your response. Pity that this 5V terminal, is not enough power for the proximity sensors.

So it could be used to ENABLE the stepper drivers, if required to?
