4th axis locks and unlocks after every line of code

As the title says, my newly acquired 4th axis locks and unlocks after every line of code. Are these things able to do full 4 axis machining, or are they just 3+1? My machine was already 4th axis ready, so it was plug and play.

coop31, Machine Type, Control Type would be needed info. Are you running in "Single Block" or "MDI"? The Control Software loaded is on the 'MORE>> ' > 'Service' page if a A2100 Control. Options turned on are on the 'MORE>> ' > 'SYS Configuration' > 'Purchased Options'. A2100 UK-VMC was always a contouring full 4 axis.

    Thanks for the reply.
Machine is arrow 750 A2100 control.
I've written a few lines of code in MDI and have also wrote a small program. Single block not on.

On the small screen that showes what's modal, as soon as I command any movement the screen shows m10,even though I programed m11 in the previous line.

Is it possible I have to program some type of g code to specify contouring?

If properly configured in the 'MORE >>' 'SYS-Configuration' > 'Machine Application' the Rotary Axis should be firing an air solenoid to unclamp; then looking for the M11 Unclamp Switch feedback.

there should be a code to release the brake for full fourth work, at least there is on a Haas. M10, engage the brake, M11 brake off.

Yes, exactly the same code for the Cincinnati arrow with a2100 control.

Problem is that the control is locking and unlocking between every movement if there is a A axis move. Stays unlocked if I only move x y Z.
