    ESS/MB3 VFD wiring

    Hello I have a Huanyung VFD with 2.2kw spindle and I just can't figure out how to wire my VFD to the MB3 directly. At the moment I have the following connection:

    VFD --> MB3:

    0V --> A0
    10V --> AG
    FOR --> NO1
    REV --> NO2

    And obviously it isn't working. Now I have tested the VFD with an RS485 to USB adapter and it worked perfectly. The issue is that after a while Mach3 will not recognize the adapter anymore and I have to replace it with a new one. They are cheap but I just don't want to keep doing that. I just want to hook it all up in one place at the MB3 and be done with it.

    If you guys can walk me through this I would really appreciate it! Here is a picture from the manual but I cannot figure it out:

    Your AO and AG are wrong I think. What VFD is this, is it a GT series?

    I am not sure to be honest cause there is no label anywhere on it. Here's a picture of the available ports.

    ACM is your analogue common, V1 is the analogue input.

    Re: ESS/MB3 VFD wiring

    I have never wired one of these before so I have no idea what that means. I understand that it needs 0-10v to control the frequency and I have configured the VFD side correctly. However I have no idea what to plug in where and what settings to put into Mach3. So far I have tried this as well and it doesn't work either:

    ACM+DCM ---> AG
    FOR --> NO1
    VI ---> A0

    I measured and I am picking up 24v between VI and ACM/DCM and also between ACM and FOR. I thought it is 10v max?

    Here is a picture of the controller itself:

    Is there a way to use the RS+ and RS- like I did with the USB controller? It was just two wires and very simple to do.

    MB3 --- VFD
    AO --- VI
    AG --- ACM
    NO1 --- FWD
    CM1 --- DCM
    NO2 --- REV
    CM2 --- DCM

    Is there a way to use the RS+ and RS- like I did with the USB controller?
    Yes, if you get RS-485 converter, and a Mach3 Huanyang plugin

    Most people use this plugin. Mach3 plugin for Huanyang VFD | Le royaume d'éole

    This is how I did it. My VFD may be labelled differently.
