Hello Gents
I am trying to connect the NPN type proximity sensors to the X,Y and Z axis.
These NPN sensors operate from 6 V to 36 VDC.
I was informed that these sensors can be connected to both the high 24V and the low 5V?
If I power the sensor up with 24V and activate the sensor, by moving a metal object, to the contact point, the voltage drops to 0,8 V.
The schematic, which comes with and on the sensor, shows a resistor between the black and brown wires. I remember doing this on my MACH3 BOB and had to achieve around 5 V, when the sensor was activated. This was also with a 24VDC supply.
I`m just confused on how to connect it to both the 24V and 5V? This does not make sense to me and then a resistor can not be used at all, between the BLK and BRN wires.
Regards
Craig
