    Advise on PVC vacuum table

    hi all,

its my first post, just found this awesome forum today. i notice it covers every topic a workshop needs to know, great stuff.

i have just received my cnc with vacuum table and to my horrible the vacuum bed has been weight down by the vacuum pump that was placed on top of it, can anyone advise how to go about to correct the table?

i've contacted china to asked for a solution, they suggest to skim down the surface which i think its too much to be skimmed.

would appreciate if anyone could provide me a solution.

    thank you all.

That looks pretty bad. I would be concerned about how much support structure there is under the phenolic top. Were the CNC mine, I would look to supplement what structure is already there. If you machine it as is, you might not have enough gasket groove depth to allow the gasket to fully compress under vacuum in certain areas. See if the company would send a replacement top. I wouldn't trust the one you have.

They won't replace, that's for sure.
Under the PVC are cross section supports.
Was hoping for a solid base support..

You need to remove the PVC and make the sub structure more rigid.
