    Shop floor construction

    Hi guys,

I have just finished moving to a new house up in New Hampshire. I am trying to figure out where to put my Pulsar. The house we're in has an attached workshop, which would be the ideal place, but the floor seems to be a joist-type construction with a plywood subfloor. I previously had the mill on a concrete floor and was quite happy with it.

Any opinions on whether a joist type floor is acceptable for a lighter mill like the Pulsar? Maybe with a butcher block stand or something? I've been thinking about getting quotes on getting a concrete floor poured, but I'm not sure how much money I want to put into this house.

    Thanks!

    Micah

    Re: Shop floor construction

It probably depends on the size of the joists, spacing, and span. There's lots of different ways to build a wood framed floor, and the better you want it, the more it costs. And price often wins out over quality.
